Step into the footsteps of generations.
The Shepherds’ Trail is a guided journey of approximately 10 km through the heart of Peneda-Gerês National Park, following ancient stone paths and mountain tracks once used daily by local shepherds and their herds.
As you walk these ancestral routes, you’ll discover not only the raw beauty of the landscape, but also the stories, traditions and resilience of a way of life shaped by the mountains. This is more than a hike — it’s a cultural immersion into the rhythms of rural life.
Along the way, we’ll stop for a unique and authentic moment: a traditional lunch hosted on a shepherd’s land, featuring local food prepared with regional ingredients. Vegetarian options will also be available.
With a moderate distance and a steady pace, this experience is accessible to most participants and ideal for those seeking a deeper connection with nature and heritage.
